The current situation

Even though it’s only a few years old, the current BEx Reporting suite (Query Designer, Web Application Designer, Report Designer and Bex Analyzer) will soon be completely overhauled. However, these are SAP BW’s most integrated tools, and they are still the best of what the market has to offer. The new lineup shouldn’t see the light of day before 2010 (with the end of maintenance period being 2013 with an extension possible until 2015).

What benefits should Business Objects’ tools bring?

Easier to use and to set up, more flexible, more readable and an improved user interface – these are the expected benefits. What’s more, they can be connected to your existing BW system, to bring you all these advantages.

Business Objects for SAP products

Crystal Reports is a reporting tool whose speciality is report creation. It already works with SAP BW, and can be used with other tools available, such as Xcelsius, to produce the most amazing reports.

Xcelsius can present your information visually and interactively. It will allow you to build, and automate presentations (thanks to integration with Microsoft Office) or decision-making dashboards. Note however, that Crystal Reports, or SAP BW Web services will be necessary in version 2008.

Web Intelligence XI enables simple user query creation, with no technical knowledge necessary.
